As the first season of The Never Ever Mets comes to an end, OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network has renewed the dating series for season 2.

The network announced the renewal on Friday, June 21, ahead of the season one finale tonight at 8/7c.

The reality show centers on couples who met online, but have never seen each other in person. As cameras follow along, they take their relationships from computer screens to face-to-face meetings.

The series premiered on April 19, and has been watched by nearly 4 million total viewers.

“Through its impressive growth over its freshman season and its ranking as the number one Friday night series among all key African American demos, The Never Ever Mets clearly resonated with our viewers and validated the need to bring fans a second season,” OWN President Tina Perry said in a statement Friday.

Actor and musician Ta’Rhonda Jones hosts the reality show.

The 10-episode first season began with seven couples who’ve been virtually dating for months and even years. One couple featured on the show began communicating online 12 years ago without ever taking the next step. Another couple met online five years ago.

After meeting in-person for the first time, the couples live in a house together while navigating a variety of challenges and relationship-building exercises for three weeks – to see if internet love can survive in the real world.

The Never Ever Mets is produced by Bunim Murray Productions.

Season one concludes tonight with five remaining couples, who’ll decide if they stay together or go their separate ways.
