Rapper T.I. was taken into custody at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta Airport, in what appears to have been a case of mistaken identity.
The hip-hop star, born Clifford Harris Jr., was arrested and transported to the Clayton County Jail on Sunday, Aug. 4, according to published reports.
In a strange twist, police were looking for another man named Clifford Harris, who was wanted in Baltimore, Maryland, The Mirror reported.
Authorities in Maryland issued a warrant for Harris’ arrest back in June in connection with a stalking case, potentially involving a gun.

Since the warrant was signed in another state, T.I. was nearly extradited from Georgia following his arrest.
But his attorney Steve Sadow told TMZ he worked furiously to prevent that from happening, and was able to get the rapper out of jail within two hours — before he was extradited.
Sadow said he cited differences in the two men’s physical appearances, including their weight.
The man wanted by police reportedly weighs about 205 pounds, while T.I. is said to be a lean 165 pounds.
A metro Atlanta judge looked at the evidence and dismissed the extradition order.
So far T.I. hasn’t posted anything on his social media channels about the mix-up in Atlanta.
