Jamie Lopez, owner of Babydoll Beauty Couture salon featured on WE tv’s Super Sized Salon, has died. She was 37.

The salon posted news of Jamie’s death on Instagram Monday afternoon.

TMZ reported Lopez was hospitalized in Las Vegas over the weekend and passed away from heart complications.

Lopez opened Babydoll Beauty Couture, which caters to plus size women in Las Vegas, in 2017. She brought in hair stylists, makeup artists and an esthetician.

At one point, Lopez weighed 846 pounds, but eventually lost 400 pounds. Her weight loss journey and efforts to regain her mobility were documented on Super Sized Salon.

As she did press to promote her new business five years ago, Lopez told Las Vegas TV station KTNV that she decided to open the establishment after a humiliating experience at another salon, when a chair collapsed under her weight.

“It was a traumatizing experience to have a chair break,” she said. “That was the last salon I’ve ever been to that wasn’t my own.”

Her reality show premiered in July and also streamed on ALLBLK.

Lopez said on the series that she was originally from Los Angeles and began doing makeup when she was 13.

She eventually became a beauty influencer and shared, “I want to inspire big girls all over the world.”
