Ronnie Turner, Son of Ike and Tina Turner, Dies at 62

Ike and Tina Turner’s son Ronald “Ronnie” Turner has died, his wife Afida said Friday on social media. He was 62.

“My God Ronnie Turner a true angel hiuge [sic] soul highly spiritual, my husband my best friend… I did the best to the end, this time I was not able to save you,” Afida captioned a photo gallery of her late husband on Instagram.

“This is a tragedy, u with your brother Craig and your father Ike Turner and Aline. Rest in paradise so unfair,” she added.

Law enforcement sources told TMZ Ronnie died “outside his home” after “having a hard time breathing.”

Dispatchers received a 911 call Thursday morning saying an individual named Ronnie was struggling to breathe, the website reported. Paramedics rushed to the location in the San Fernando Valley section of Los Angeles, but were unable to revive him. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Ronnie was born in October 1960. He reportedly had a history of health problems, including cancer. It’s unclear what caused his death.

Tina Turner expressed her sorrow over Ronnie’s death on Instagram.

“In sorrow I close my eyes and think of you, my beloved son,” she captioned a Friday afternoon post.

This is the latest loss for the 83-year-old singer. Her oldest son, Craig, died by suicide in Los Angeles in 2018.

Turner posted a tribute to Craig on social media after attending a memorial-at-sea for him off the coast of California.

“My saddest moment as a mother,” she shared. “On Thursday, July 19, 2018, I said my final goodbye to my son, Craig Raymond Turner, when I gathered with family and friends to scatter his ashes off the coast of California.”
