Saturday Night Live returns this month with hosts Dave Chappelle and Timothée Chalamet.
Chappelle will emcee the sketch comedy show’s first episode of 2025 on Jan. 18, NBC announced.
This mark’s the Emmy-winning comedian’s fourth time hosting the late-night show.
Chappelle last hosted SNL in November 2022. During the appearance, he resurrected some of his iconic characters from Comedy Central’s Chappelle’s Show.

The episode was a ratings hit, bringing in 4.8 million total viewers and a 0.9 rating in the advertiser coveted adults 18-49 demo, per Nielsen figures. It was one of the highest-rated episodes of the season, as previously reported.
It was also one of the most controversial episodes, with Anti-Defamation League CEO Jonathan Greenblatt calling Chappelle’s jokes “disturbing,” and accusing the comic of antisemitism on social media the next day.
Despite the backlash, Chappelle trended on Twitter for hours, with many SNL viewers praising his fiery monologue.
Maybe this time Chappelle will avoid controversy, or not.
The comedian’s latest stand-up special, Dave Chappelle: The Dreamer, is nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Comedy Album. He’ll be joined on SNL by fellow Grammy nominee, rapper GloRilla, who will make her debut as a musical guest on the show. The multi-platinum selling artist just received two Grammy nods for her single “Yeah Glo!”
The following week, Timothée Chalamet will host and serve as musical guest on Jan. 25.
This marks the actor’s third time hosting SNL and his first time as musical guest. Chalamet is nominated for SAG and Critics Choice Awards for his performance as music legend Bob Dylan in the film A Complete Unknown.
Entertainment Weekly reported the actor performed 40 songs for the biopic “on guitar, on harmonica, and singing live.”
Saturday Night Live is produced in association with Broadway Video. Lorne Michaels is the creator and executive producer.
