Simone Biles is celebrating her gymnastics all-around gold medal at the 2024 Olympic Games with a bit of humor.
The gymnastics champion posted a cheeky comment on X, formerly Twitter, early Friday morning about her victory in Paris, France.
“I love my Black job,” Biles wrote in response to a post from singer-songwriter and self-proclaimed political junkie Ricky Davila.
Davila initially posted: “Simone Biles being the GOAT, winning Gold medals and dominating gymnastics is her Black job.”
His comment was in reference to a controversial remark former President Donald Trump made during a Q&A session on July 31, at the National Association of Black Journalists convention in Chicago.

When Fox News anchor Harris Faulkner asked Trump what message he was bringing to Black journalists, he responded by saying he would prevent undocumented immigrants from taking “Black jobs” if elected to the White House again.
ABC News correspondent Rachel Scott pressed Trump to define a “Black job.”
“A Black job is anybody that has a job. That’s what it is. Anybody that has a job. And they take it. They’re taking the employment away from Black people,” he said. “They’re coming in. They’re invading. It’s an invasion of millions of people, probably 15, 16, 17 million people. I have a feeling it’s much more than that. And everybody’s been seeing what’s happened. The first group of people, the Black population, is affected most by that. And Kamala [Harris] is allowing it to happen. She’s the border czar. She’s the worst border czar in the history of the world.”
While Biles was having fun with her social media post, her victory was serious business (and historic).
On Thursday, she edged out Brazilian gymnast Rebeca Andrade to win her second Olympics all-around title. Andrade picked up the silver medal and American gymnast Suni Lee won bronze.
Biles is 27 years old. According to NBC Sports, she’s the oldest female gymnast to win the all-around title since 1952. Biles now has the most Olympic medals of any American gymnast in history.
In an interview with reporters Thursday, she credited hard work and guidance from her coaches Cecile Canqueteau-Landi and Laurent Landi.
“Three years ago, I never thought I’d step foot on a gymnastics floor again because of everything that had happened but with the help of Cecile and Laurent I got back in the gym and worked really hard mentally and physically,” she said.
Biles noted that she also makes her mental health a priority after withdrawing from the Tokyo Olympics.
“Even at 7 a.m. this morning I saw my therapist … So just making sure I’m mentally well – I think you can see that out on the competition floor,” she said.
