Riele Downs and Kenya Moore to Headline Lifetime’s ‘The Carlesha Gaither Story’

Kenya Moore is adding another acting credit to her resume, with a role in the upcoming Lifetime movie Abducted Off The Street: The Carlesha Gaither Story.

Based on a true story, the movie chronicles the abduction of a Philadelphia nurse’s aide by a homicidal predator. Determined not to give up, the young woman fights to survive and creates a trail that ultimately leads to her rescue.

Riele Downs leads the cast as Carlesha Gaither, Lifetime said in a press release Wednesday. Moore plays her mom Keisha, who makes an impassioned plea in the media and works alongside a committed detective to rescue her daughter before it’s too late.

Moore, who is best known as one of the stars of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, previously had roles in the TV series Saints & Sinners, Games People Play, and Family Reunion.

Downs had roles in Bel Air, Darby and the Dead, and Henry Danger.

The two join Sam Asante, Aiden Devine, Diana Johnstone, Danny Waugh, and Dylan Taylor in the film’s cast.

The movie is produced by Cineflix Productions for Lifetime. Katie Boland directs from a script written by Amani Walker. Jeff Vanderwal, Sherri Rufh and J.C. Mills are executive producers.

Abducted off the Street: The Carlesha Gaither Story airs Saturday, Feb. 10 on Lifetime.

The movie is part of the network’s January and February “Ripped from the Headlines” slate inspired by real events. The films all debut on Saturdays at 8p/7c.

Girl in the Video
The film centers on the dark underworld of catfishing and exploitive videos on the dark web.

Cush Jumbo (The Good Fight, Criminal Record) leads the cast as widowed mom Mo, whose daughter Krissy (played by Tia May Watts) has secretly started chatting online with Toby. Krissy believes Toby is a cute high school senior, and sneaks out to meet him at a party.

When Mo discovers her daughter is missing the next morning, she and her son Robbie launch a search and alert local detectives. An anonymous tip reveals Krissy is being held captive and exploited in sexually abusive live streams for money on the dark web.

The movie is produced by ITN Productions for Lifetime and was filmed in Norfolk, England. Ian Russell serves as executive producer. The film is written by Matthew Broughton and Neil Rawles directs.

Girl in the Video is the latest installment in Lifetime’s popular “Girl In” franchise, which included Girl in the Closet, Girl in Room 13, Girl in the Basement, Girl in the Shed, Girl in the Box, and Girl in the Bunker. The new movie premieres Saturday, Jan. 13.

Dying in Plain Sight 
The film tells the story of overweight high school student Morgan Cruz (Raffa Virago) and her mother Kim (Nicola Correia-Damude), who are both keeping secrets that lead to devasting circumstances.

Dying in Plain Sight is produced for Lifetime by Neshama Entertainment in association with MarVista Entertainment. Larry Grimaldi, Hannah Pillemer, Fernando Szew, Julianna Hays and Bonnie Zipursky executive produce for MarVista. Arnie Zipursky, Dayna Zipursky and Suzanne Berger executive produce for Neshama. Michelle Ouellet directs from a script written by Lydia Genner. The movie premieres Saturday, Jan. 20.

Confessions of a Cam Girl
The movie follows eighteen-year-old fashion guru Kristen (Megan Best, Dawn), who is set to become the first in her family to graduate from college. Her working-class parents are furious when she reveals a plan to attend fashion school instead of college, and they refuse to use her college fund to help her fulfill her dream.

Determined to pay for school herself, Kristen secretly creates an online explicit content page to raise $10,000. Confident that she can keep her side hustle under wraps, Kristen’s secret unravels and threatens not just her future, but the safety of her family.

Confessions of a Cam Girl is produced by Sepia Films for Lifetime. Sheri Singer serves as executive producer. Siobhan Devine directs from a script written by Miriam van Emst. The movie premieres Saturday, Jan. 27.

 A Mother’s Intuition
The film follows a twisted plot involving a distraught woman, her missing newborn baby, and the handsome investigator trying to get to the truth.

Denise Boutté leads the cast as Toni, a young, pregnant woman dealing with the sudden death of her husband. In a bizarre turn of events, Toni is told her baby was stillborn, but her intuition tells her something isn’t right. She suspects a sinister switched-at-birth plot carried off by her doctors.

Matt Cedeño co-stars as the private investigator who helps Toni as she searches for answers.

The film, which aired on TV One over the summer, also stars Tamar Braxton as Dr. Chaundra, and Brely Evans as Cicel. A Mother’s Intuition makes its Lifetime debut on Feb. 3.
