Gun-slinging, gory shots and past-faced action set the tone in the teaser trailer for Netflix’s new school Western The Harder They Fall.
In the trailer released Thursday, a band of rough riders, including the “Treacherous” Trudy Smith (Regina King) and Cherokee Bill (LaKeith Stanfield), take over a railroad train to free fellow group member Rufus Buck (Idris Elba).
Rufus comes back to town as gunfights begin between his band of outlaws and his enemy’s group — led by Nat Love (Jonathan Majors). Love is trying to seek revenge on Rufus — the man who killed his parents decades ago.

In one scene, Majors’ voice can be heard in a voiceover saying, “I know who you are — the angel who hunts down those who trespass against him with no mercy.”
Danielle Deadwyler, Damon Wayans Jr., Delroy Lindo, and Deon Cole round out the main cast.
The Harder They Fall will be released both on the streaming platform and in theaters. An official release date has not yet been announced, although the trailer says the film will arrive in the fall.
As previously reported, the movie features an all-Black cast and was first announced in the fall of 2019. British musical artist and director Jeymes Samuel co-wrote the script alongside Boaz Yakin. Samuel also directed the film.
The Harder They Fall is produced by Samuel, Jay-Z, James Lassiter and Lawrence Bender.
