Ready to Love is returning with a new group of singles and something unexpected thrown in the mix.

Season 3 of the OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network series features an all-new cast of Black men and women looking for lasting love.

According to host Thomas “Nephew Tommy” Miles, this latest season is based in his hometown of Houston and will include a bit of a curveball.

“It’s a surprise. It’s a big surprise. So be ready,” Miles told Urban Hollywood 411 in a recent Zoom interview. Asked to elaborate, he said to just watch the show.

Unlike other dating programs geared toward younger singles, Ready to Love follows successful men and women in their 30s and 40s.

“Most dating shows are people in their 20s, young and single and ripped up,” Miles quipped. “This one is people that have been career driven and people that have been married. Now they’re separated, divorced, got kids, 30s and 40s, even people in their 50s.”

The series premiered in 2018, and comes from Will Packer Media and Lighthearted Entertainment. After two previous seasons, Miles said he’s seen it all.

“Sometimes I see some guys, and I see why you’re by yourself,” Miles said jokingly. “You get on the show, and I can see right through you. You’re not looking for love. You came on here, you’re running game and you’re going from this girl to this girl, and I can see right through it.”

For singles more interested in playing games than looking for real love, Miles offered a bit of advice.

“The whole world is watching and you’re going to look like an idiot,” he said. “Don’t do this to yourself, because six months down the line, you’re going to be kicking yourself. ‘Oh my God, I shouldn’t have done this and I shouldn’t done that.’ But hey, you learn from your mistakes.”

Season 3 of Ready to Love kicks off Friday, April 2, from 9-10 p.m. ET/PT on OWN.
