Detectives from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department have raided a home in the Hollywood Hills leased by rapper YG, authorities confirmed.

Video broadcast by Los Angeles TV station KABC showed deputies and a firetruck outside the home on Thursday morning as a search warrant was served. There were several luxury cars parked in the driveway during the raid. Sheriff’s officials said YG was not home at the time.

Several people were detained as mansion was searched. The sheriff’s department later said detectives arrested 29-year-old Tyquan Williams on a weapons charge. He is being held on $25,000 bail.

Homicide bureau detectives were looking for a black 2018 Cadillac Escalade belonging to YG that was involved in a pursuit and fatal shooting in Compton on July 3. An innocent bystander was killed in the crossfire as deputies exchanged gunfire with someone in the vehicle.

Shortly after the shooting, the sheriff’s department issued a statement confirming the SUV was registered in YG’s name.

“Investigators can confirm that the information being widely reported regarding the suspect vehicle being registered to Keenon Jackson, AKA ‘YG,’ is accurate,” the statement said.

The sheriff’s department said someone in the vehicle opened fire with a high-powered rifle. Local news reports described the SUV as armored, with bulletproof windows.

On July 5, YG posted a statement on Twitter, saying he was not involved.

“I was nowhere near the scene of this incident, I was in Hollywood recording in the studio all day,” he tweeted. “I was there until after midnight on the 4th of July and didn’t learn of these events until after they happened!”

YG, 29, was born in Compton. He is perhaps best known for the single “FDT (F–k Donald Trump).”
