R. Kelly posted bail Monday afternoon and was released from a Cook County jail, according to The Associated Press.
The R&B singer turned himself in to Chicago police late Friday and was booked into jail. On Saturday, a Chicago judge set bond at $1 million, or $250,000 for each of the four alleged victims in the case.
Kelly is one of the most successful R&B artists of all time, but he struggled to come up with bail and spent three nights behind bars. His attorney, Steve Greenberg, said the I Believe I Can Fly performer “really doesn’t have any money at this point.”
Greenberg blamed mismanagement and “hangers-on” for Kelly’s financial troubles.

During a hearing earlier in the day, Greenberg pleaded not guilty on the singer’s behalf to 10 counts of aggravated sexual abuse.
Prosecutors allege that Kelly abused four females, including three minors. Three of the four victims were between ages 13 and 17 when the alleged abuse occurred between 1998 and 2010, prosecutors said. Kelly has denied the allegations.
He is due back in court on March 22.
In another development Monday, attorney Michael Avenatti told reporters he’s obtained a second video of R. Kelly allegedly assaulting a minor, and plans to turn it over to prosecutors.
