Pharrell Williams and his animated Lego biopic Piece by Piece has been generating buzz for months, now the unconventional film is just days away from arriving in theaters.
Piece by Piece uses Lego toy blocks to bring the life story of the recording artist, producer, songwriter, and fashion designer to the screen.
According to the official description, the film combines “animation with Pharrell’s iconic music, telling the story of his journey from a small-town dreamer to a global superstar.”
The star-studded cast includes not only Pharrell, but also his friends and collaborators Daft Punk, Gwen Stefani, Kendrick Lamar, Timbaland, Justin Timberlake, Busta Rhymes, Jay-Z, Pusha T, Snoop Dogg, and N.O.R.E. — all in Lego form.
Earlier today, distributor Focus Features released the official character posters.

While speaking about the film during a September interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Pharrell explained how Piece By Piece explores building dreams.
“I’m humble now, but it tells you the story of how I became humble,” the “Happy” singer-songwriter said. “And what I love about it is, from 8 to 80, it’s never too late for you to think about your dreams and build them piece by piece.”
Morgan Neville helmed the project. Neville is best known for 20 Feet From Stardom, which won the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature in 2014.
The filmmaker also serves as one of the producers along with Caitrin Rogers of Tremolo Productions, Mimi Valdés, Shani Saxon, and Pharrell.
The movie comes from Lego Animation.
Executive producers include David Lawrence, Shani Saxon, Jill Wilfert, Keith Malone, Joshua R. Wexler, Sanjee K. Gupta, James De Julio, and Lesley Worton.
Piece by Piece arrives in theaters Friday, Oct. 11, 2024. The film will feature new music by Pharrell.
