Bel-Air is returning for one last season.
Peacock announced on Dec. 3 that the drama series has been renewed for a fourth and final season.
Executive producer Morgan Cooper was the one who jump started the series.
Cooper directed a four-minute trailer that featured a reimagining of the 1990s Will Smith sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. After sharing the video on social media, it went viral and caught Smith’s attention.
The first season of Bel-Air premiered on Peacock on Feb. 13, 2022.
The series stars Jabari Banks as Will, Olly Sholtan as Carlton Banks, Coco Jones as Hilary Banks, and Akira Akbar as Ashley Banks.
Philip and Vivian Banks are played by Adrian Holmes and Cassandra Freeman.
The drama has also featured notable guests, including original Fresh Prince of Bel-Air cast memebers Tatyana Ali, Joseph Marcell, Vernee Watson-Johnson, and Daphne Maxwell Reid.
Others appearing on the show included WWE Superstar Bianca Belair, rapper Saweetie, R&B singer and actress Andra Day, and comedians Marlon Wayans and Bill Bellamy.
In season 3, Will makes an exciting pivot and finds a partner in Carlton, who desperately wants to leave his life of addiction behind and rebuild his damaged reputation.
Also, pressure at work and home poses challenges for Viv and Phil, Hilary’s relationship with LaMarcus faces shocking hurdles, and Ashley’s view on romance starts to blossom.
Will Smith serves as executive producer, along with showrunner and writer Carla Banks Waddles, Morgan Cooper, Terence Carter, James Lassiter, Miguel Melendez, Benny Medina, and Andy & Susan Borowitz.
Bel-Air is produced by Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group and Westbrook Studios.
