Oprah Winfrey is denying reports she received a big payday to back Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 election.

In a video posted to Instagram by The Shade Room, on Monday (Nov. 11), Winfrey addressed the rumors.

The TV titan had just finished working out when the paparazzi spotted her walking to her car.

A photographer with a British accent peppered Winfrey with questions about the election and asked if she was paid $1 million to back Harris.

“Not true. I was paid nothing — ever,” the media mogul responded with a fake British accent.

With no security in sight to fend off the man’s questions, Winfrey climbed into her SUV and shut the door.

Some of the comments on Instagram were just as humorous as her response.

“Baby, Oprah got in her car and locked her door and went on about her business,” one person replied to the post.

“How you finna run up on a billionaire with a millionaire’s question,” another person wrote.

“Not her answering back in his accent,” someone else posted.

Winfrey’s denial came after the right-leaning Washington Examiner published a report on Nov. 8, claiming she was paid $1 million through her company, Harpo Productions, after hosting a town hall for Harris in September and appearing at Harris’ final rally in Philadelphia right before the election.

Winfrey, who has long been a supporter of the Democratic Party, has previously endorsed several presidential candidates. She campaigned for Presidents Joe Biden and Barack Obama, and endorsed former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in the 2016 election. Winfrey also made a surprise appearance at the 2024 Democratic National Convention.

As previously reported in 2020, she even took steps to encourage civic engagement among her staff, declaring Election Day a paid holiday for employees of her OWN TV network to ensure they could participate in the election.

This year, she was one of many high-profile figures who endorsed Harris. Others such as Michelle and Barack Obama, LeBron James, Kelly Rowland, Cardi B, Taylor Swift, George Clooney, and Beyoncé also backed of Harris during the election, which she lost to former President Donald Trump.
