After nearly four years on The View, Meghan McCain says she’s leaving the ABC daytime talk show.
The conservative co-host made the announcement on-air, during Thursday’s show.
“I am just going to rip the Band-aid off. I am here to tell all of you, my wonderful co-hosts, and the viewers at home that this is going to be my last season at The View,” she said. “It’s not easy to leave, but I feel like this is the right decision for me at the moment.”

McCain, 36, and her husband welcomed their first child last year. She cited personal concerns, such as wanting to stay with her family and friends in Washington D.C., as well as professional reasons for deciding to leave the New York-based show.
According to the Daily Mail, which was the first outlet to report on her exit, McCain still had two years left on her contract and did not tell her co-hosts she planned to leave at the end of the month.
