Meagan Good is setting the record straight about why her nine-year marriage to film producer, author and preacher DeVon Franklin ended in divorce.

The actress sat down for an interview about her life and career on the latest episode of Zeus Network’s The Jason Lee show.

In a clip from the episode, host Jason Lee said jokingly: “DeVon Franklin was way too good for you.”

The Harlem star responded, “Oh no, no, DeVon left me.” A surprised Lee asked, “He left you?”

“Yeah,” said Good. Lee pressed the actress for details on what happened.

“What I can say is, it’s not that anybody did anything wrong. I can’t say that he f–ked that up and I can’t say that I f–ked that up,” she explained.

“We grew from it. I don’t think that any time was wasted. I think that everything in life, every single season, you do learn so much, and you do grow so much, and you give so much, and you do get so much,” the actress added.

She went on to tell Lee she was “hurt” by the experience, but eventually managed to “work through” it and moved on with her life.

Good and Franklin met during production of the 2011 film Jumping the Broom. They married in June 2012. But announced they were calling it quits in December 2021.

In a 2022 interview with the New York Post, Franklin briefly addressed the divorce and said: “With everything that I’ve been through, I found that [It’s important to] resist the temptation to place blame.”

Good is now married to actor Jonathan Majors. The two exchanged vows last month, which Majors confirmed during an appearance on Sherri.

He said they had a small ceremony at their home in Los Angeles while relatives were in town to help him celebrate the release of his comeback film Magazine Dreams.

“My mother came, my mother is a pastor, she came from Dallas where I’m from … and she came to the premiere, the L.A. screening… and my mother married us yesterday… We finally got to do it,” he told host Sherri Shepherd.
