Retired Los Angeles Laker Matt Barnes was granted a restraining order Wednesday against ex-wife Gloria Govan, after accusing the Basketball Wives star of assault with a deadly weapon and child endangerment.

The temporary restraining order, signed by a Los Angeles judge, said Govan must stay at least 100 yards away from Barnes and the pair’s twin 9-year-old sons, except during weekly supervised visits, according to the New York Daily News.

Barnes requested the court order after a confrontation at the children’s school led to Govan’s arrest on Friday, Aug. 31.

As Urban Hollywood 411 previously reported, the reality star was booked on suspicion of child endangerment when she tried to pick the twins up from school, even though Barnes was scheduled to have custody for the Labor Day weekend.

Barnes claimed in his court filing that once he removed the children from Govan’s SUV, she drove toward his car “at an excessively high rate of speed through the school parking lot.”

He went on to allege that Govan tried to box his vehicle in, leaving the children “terrified.”

“I could not do anything except sit in the car, trying to calm the boys who were terrified, screaming hysterically and crying,” Barnes stated in the documents.

“Gloria willfully committed acts of assault with a deadly weapon, child endangerment and false imprisonment,” states the restraining order filed by Barnes’ lawyer Samantha Spector.

Govan called the police after the confrontation, but she was the one arrested, Barnes said.

She was taken to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Malibu/Lost Hills Station, and released early the next morning after posting $100,000 bail.

The reality star attended court Wednesday with her attorney, Mark Gross, who unsuccessfully tried to block the restraining order.

“This is a classic example of a family law litigant attempting to use a Domestic Violence Prevention Act as a ‘sword’ instead of a ‘shield,’” Gross wrote in his filing opposing the order.

Govan is scheduled to return to court at the end of the month to argue for a change in the arrangement, according to published reports. Govan and Barnes divorced in December 2016, after two years of marriage.

She is currently engaged to former NBA player and coach Derek Fisher.
