‘Love and Marriage: Huntsville’ Star Martell Holt Arrested on Domestic Violence Charge

Reality TV personality Martell Holt — known for his role on Love & Marriage: Huntsville — was arrested and charged with domestic violence in Madison County, Alabama, on Tuesday.

Holt spent about three hours in custody before he was released on bond, AL.com reported.

According to Madison County jail records obtained by the site, Holt faces a misdemeanor charge of third-degree domestic violence/harassing communications.

The Huntsville Police Department, the arresting agency, confirmed to TMZ that the arrest was the result of a warrant. The identity of the alleged victim is unclear.

As of Tuesday evening, state court records did not provide any additional details about the case.

Holt released a statement hours after his arrest, saying the allegations date back to August 2022, and stem from a “misunderstanding.”

“It is with great concern that we address these accusations. Martell Holt adamantly denies any intentional harm or harassment towards the accuser. We believe that these allegations are the result of a misunderstanding, and we are confident that the legal process will ultimately vindicate Mr. Holt,” the TV personality said through his publicist, Jonell Whitt.

“Despite the challenges presented, Martell will continue to focus on his role as a responsible parent and contribute positively to his community. We urge the public and media to approach this matter with fairness and sensitivity, considering the impact such allegations can have on individuals and their families,” the statement continued. “We are confident that, as the legal proceedings unfold, the truth will emerge, and Martell Holt will be exonerated. We appreciate your understanding and respect for Martell’s privacy during this challenging time.”

Love & Marriage: Huntsville, a reality TV series broadcast on OWN, follows the lives of three influential Black couples working together to rejuvenate Huntsville, Alabama, through their joint real estate venture, The Comeback Group.

Holt is an entrepreneur and CEO of the Holt Brand.

The reality star, who has appeared on 57 episodes of Love & Marriage: Huntsville, is also known for his past relationship with Real Housewives of Atlanta star Shereé Whitfield. The couple parted ways last summer.

Previously, Holt was married to OWN star Melody Shari. The former couple share four children, including daughters Maliah, Mariah, and Malani, along with a son named Martell.

Holt is also the father to another child, a son named Knox, whom he welcomed with Arionne Curry.
