Kevin Hart is speaking out about his recovery after almost losing his life in a car accident.

In his first Instagram post since the devastating crash in Malibu on Sept. 1, Hart shared a video of his recovery late Tuesday and said he’s thankful to “still be here.”

“I was involved in an accident. My world was forever changed,” read text at the beginning of the video.

“Basically what you realize is that you’re not in control,” he said over news footage of the crash. “No matter how much you think you’re in control, you’re not in control. At the end of the day, it can all be over, man.”

Hart, 40, was a passenger in his 1970 Plymouth Barracuda when it drove off Mulholland Highway and rolled down an embankment injuring the comedian and two others, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The video shows Hart in the hospital struggling to take steps, even with the help of two nurses and a walker.

“When God talks, you gotta listen.” he said. “I swear, life is funny. Because some of the craziest things that happen to you end up being the things that you needed most. And in this case, I honestly feel like God basically told me to sit down.”

The footage included shots of the actor and comedian in physical therapy sessions at the gym and in a pool, and revealed a major scar on his back.

“When you’re moving too fast and you’re doing too much, sometimes you can’t see the things that you’re meant to see,” he said.

The video then cuts to footage of Hart spending time with his family.

“But after my accident, I see things differently. I see life from a whole new perspective. My appreciation for life is through the roof,” he explained. “I’m thankful for my family, my friends. I’m thankful for the people that simply ride with me and have been with me.”

He also addressed his fans, saying he’s “thankful for all of your love and support.”

The Jumanji: The Next Level star concluded by saying he’s looking forward to the future.

“Don’t take today for granted because tomorrow’s not promised,” Hart said. “More importantly, I’m thankful for God. I’m thankful for life. I’m thankful for simply still being here [on] the road to being a bigger and better version of me. I’m looking forward to an amazing 2020.”
