Kerry Washington is going behind the camera for her next gig.

The Scandal alum uploaded a video to Instagram this week announcing she’ll direct an episode of HBO’s Insecure for the show’s upcoming fourth season.

“You are the next director of Insecure,” she says to herself as music plays in the video. Washington then looks into a mirror, as Issa Rae’s character often does, and asks herself which episode she’ll direct.

“Oh nine, because that’s what I do,” she says before stretching out her arms and spitting a freestyle rap.

“Here we go. I’m about to direct Insecure on HBO. It’s not a scandal,” she raps.I’m about to handle it. Because this cast is fire and the show is mine.”

Rae then walks in and accuses Washington of talking to herself in the mirror.

“You were talking to your mirror bitch, weren’t you?” Rae asks.

“Yeah,” Washington responds before the two start laughing.

This isn’t Washington’s first time directing. She also helmed an episode of Scandal before the Shondaland series ended after seven seasons.

News of Washington’s directing gig at Insecure comes after Jay Ellis, who plays Lawrence on the series, took to social media last month to reveal he’ll also be directing an episode of the show.

Season four of Insecure is expected to premiere in 2020.
