Nearly two years after a celebrity-filled opening in June 2024, the Kenya Moore Hair Spa in Atlanta has shuttered.
An ongoing legal battle between the former Real Housewives of Atlanta star and her landlord, resulted in the furniture and equipment being placed on the sidewalk on Friday, April 24.
According to published reports, the RHOA alum was allegedly behind on rent payments.
After fans went to the location and began posting videos of items being moved outside this afternoon, blogger Bingeworthy reported on the closure.
“They’re putting Kenya’s stuff on the curb as we speak… my heart breaks for Kenya Moore,” Bingeworthy captioned a video on X.
As the footage went viral, Kenya released a statement on social media, saying she stopped paying rent because of a legal dispute over unreimbursed upgrades she made to the property.
“I have spent the last several weeks moving out of my salon as a result of my ongoing legal battle with the landlord who has failed to reimburse me nearly $80k of improvement funds I am rightfully owed,” she stated. “My only recourse was to withhold rent and file a countersuit. I already have my outfit laid out for court chile!”
She went on to express gratitude to everyone who patronized the business.
“To all the amazing women and men who came in and twirled out in style, thank you from the bottom of my heart!,” she continued. “This salon chapter is closing, trust me, it’s not the end. It’s just the beginning of a new era. Stay tuned for what’s next!”
Bravo cameras recorded the opening for season 16 of RHOA, including a dispute between Kenya and former housewife Brit Eady. The incident aired in April 2025. (You can read about it here).
Needless to say, Kenya and Brit both left the show a short time later. Brit was only on RHOA for one season.
The season 16 newcomer filed a $20M lawsuit against Bravo and NBCUniversal, as well as production companies True Original and Endemol Shine North America, claiming she was defamed and suffered emotional injury and sexual harassment during the dispute.
In March, TMZ reported Bravo filed a response to the complaint and requested it be dismissed.
The network said Brit’s contract warned she might encounter “provocative conduct or speech from other cast members,” and she signed it. Bravo added that it should not be held liable for a cast dispute, and asked the judge to toss out the complaint. The case is ongoing.
