Police are investigating Kanye West for alleged battery after some type of physical altercation Thursday morning in downtown Los Angeles.

The incident occurred as the rapper, who now goes by the name Ye, left the social club Soho Warehouse around 3 a.m., according to published reports. The LAPD confirms officers took a battery report listing the rapper as a “named suspect,”  but no arrest has been made.

Local television station Fox 11 reports West allegedly punched a fan in the face after the man asked for an autograph. The fan said when he approached West, the rapper got out of his car, threw a punch, then left the scene.
