Police are investigating Kanye West for alleged battery after some type of physical altercation Thursday morning in downtown Los Angeles.
The incident occurred as the rapper, who now goes by the name Ye, left the social club Soho Warehouse around 3 a.m., according to published reports. The LAPD confirms officers took a battery report listing the rapper as a “named suspect,” but no arrest has been made.
Local television station Fox 11 reports West allegedly punched a fan in the face after the man asked for an autograph. The fan said when he approached West, the rapper got out of his car, threw a punch, then left the scene.

In a video obtained by TMZ, a man can be seen lying on the ground while the irate “Praise God” artist says “Get away from me” to a woman who is trying to calm him down. The woman says “Give me your hand,” but West refuses to do so and is visibly agitated. Sources told TMZ the woman is West’s cousin.
The media outlet reports witnesses said West punched the man once in the neck and once in the head.
