A Kansas City radio station has confirmed Lisa Lopez-Galvan, a DJ at KKFI, was killed in Wednesday’s Super Bowl parade shooting.
“It is with sincere sadness and an extremely heavy and broken heart that we let our community know that KKFI DJ Lisa Lopez, host of ‘Taste of Tejano’ lost her life today in the shooting at the KC Chiefs’ rally,” the station said in a statement on Facebook. “This senseless act has taken a beautiful person from her family and this KC Community.”
The Missouri radio station’s followers filled the post with messages of condolence.
“My heart goes out to Lisa’s family and KKFI. She was a wonderful person and supporter of so many,” one person wrote.
“Our hearts and prayers go out to her family, both on and off the microphone. To have such a beautiful celebration end in such a tragedy. Sending love from NY,” another person wrote.

Lopez-Galvan was in her 40s, married and had two children, according to the Kansas City Star. She reportedly died at a hospital during surgery on Wednesday, after suffering a gunshot wound to her abdomen.
Nearly one million fans gathered in downtown Kansas City on Feb. 14, for a parade and rally celebrating the Chiefs win over the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII.
On Thursday, the Kansas City Police Department said three people have been taken into custody in connection with the shooting, including two juveniles.
“We are working to determine the involvement of others. And it should be noted we have recovered several firearms. This incident is still a very active investigation,” Police Chief Stacey Graves said at a news conference, according to the Associated Press.
Investigators are asking witnesses, people with cellphone footage and victims of the violence to notify authorities.
Police confirmed a mother of two was killed in the shooting, and 22 others were injured with their ages ranging from 8 to 47 years old.
