Bounce TV dramedy Johnson is set to return for a third season this summer.

In an announcement this week, Bounce said the series has been renewed, with new episodes scheduled to air in August.

The series follows four Black men — Omar, Greg, Keith and Jarvis who met in grade school and have been best friends ever since. They all just happened to have the same last name, Johnson, but aren’t related. After 25 years of friendship, they find themselves in vastly different places in their lives, threatening their bond.

This summer, Bounce will also air new episodes of freshman comedy series Act Your Age. And the network is prepping an original Juneteenth documentary special focusing on civil rights pioneer Xernona Clayton titled A Life in Black and White.

“From the continued momentum of our latest hit in Act Your Age, to the return of one of our staples with Johnson and an extremely moving documentary telling the largely untold story of a cultural treasure Xernona Clayton, Bounce viewers have a lot to be excited about this summer,” David Hudson, head of original programming at Scripps Networks, said in a press release.

Xernona Clayton: A Life in Black and White
The new documentary will celebrate the life of perhaps the most unheralded civil rights icon and African American pioneer of our time. The film will march through Clayton’s nearly century-long life that honors an extraordinary woman, from her years working closely with Dr. Martin Luther King and Coretta Scott King, through her pioneering broadcasting career with Ted Turner. Clayton founded The Trumpet Awards, which were acquired by Bounce in 2016.
