Two months after he was hospitalized, reps for Jamie Foxx have responded to a viral conspiracy theory claiming the actor’s illness was caused by the COVID-19 vaccine.

In a statement provided to NBC News on June 7, the rep denied any connection between Foxx’s hospitalization and the vaccine, calling the rumors “completely inaccurate.”

The unsubstantiated claims gained traction after gossip columnist A.J. Benza discussed Foxx during an appearance on the “Ask Dr. Drew” podcast last month.

Benza told host Dr. Drew Pinsky that Foxx experienced “partial paralysis and blindness” after getting vaccinated.

He also claimed the actor was forced to get the vaccine while working on a film, and that a blood clot resulting from the vaccine led to Foxx having a stroke.

However, Benza did not identify the source of his claims, simply saying he knew someone “in the room” with Foxx at the time of his hospitalization.

Despite his lack of evidence, Benza’s claims have gained traction online — inadvertently making Foxx a focal point for the anti-vaccine movement.

Right-wing figures including Candace Owens, actor Kevin Sorbo, and Talking Points USA founder Charlie Kirk have all amplified the claims on their platforms, further fueling speculation surrounding Foxx’s condition.

On June 1, Kirk tweeted: “I am infuriated a decent person like Jamie Foxx fell victim to Big Pharma…”

Foxx has been quietly recovering after an undisclosed medical emergency landed him in the hospital on April 11.

Recently, the Collateral actor started making headlines again when new claims linking his mystery illness to the COVID-19 vaccine gained traction on Twitter.

While the exact details of Foxx’s hospitalization remain unknown to the public, his daughter Corinne Foxx took to Instagram last month to share that he had been out of the hospital for several weeks and was well enough to play pickleball.

Foxx’s Instagram account also featured a post on May 3, expressing his gratitude to fans as he continued his recovery.

“Appreciate all the love!!! Feeling blessed,” the post read.
