The statement came after news broke earlier in the day that Foxx won’t be hosting the upcoming season of his game show Beat Shazam.

TMZ broke the news, saying the actor and singer remains hospitalized with sources urging fans to “pray for Jamie.”

Nick Cannon has been tapped to guest host the Fox network game show, according to an Instagram Story on the show’s official account. Kelly Osbourne is stepping up to the DJ booth, replacing Foxx’s daughter Corinne as she remains by her dad’s side.

Beat Shazam has been an unscripted mainstay on the Fox schedule for six seasons and counting,” the show’s statement began. “This season, not wanting fans of the game show to miss a minute of the fun, Nick Cannon has offered to fill in as a guest host for his friends, Jamie and Corinne Foxx.”

Show producers said they “greatly appreciate” Cannon’s help.

Corinne expressed her appreciation to Cannon and Osbourne as well.

“Thank you so much Nick Cannon and Kelly Osbourne for filling in this season!” she wrote in an Instagram Story. “We are so pumped for season 6!”

Cannon previously hinted at the change while giving an update to Entertainment Tonight on Foxx’s health, saying he was working on “something special” for the actor.

“I know he’s doing so much better because I’m actually about to do something special for him, and doing him a favor,” said Cannon.

Beat Shazam premiered in 2017 and is co-produced by Foxx. Additional producers include Mark Burnett, Barry Poznick and Lauren Zalaznick.

The show pits teams of two against the clock and each other as they try to identify hit songs. In the end, the team with the most money banked goes up against popular song identification app, Shazam.

Foxx’s daughter Corinne posted a statement to Instagram on April 12, revealing the actor was hospitalized.

“We wanted to share that my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday (April 11),” Corinne shared. “Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery. We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time.”

The actor and singer had been busy working on his upcoming movie Back in Action when he became ill. Filming was temporarily halted, but resumed days later with a stand-in actor, according to published reports.
