Jamie Foxx is continuing to improve after suffering an undisclosed medical emergency earlier this month.
“Doctors are running tests, but he is awake and alert. They’re keeping him under observation,” a source told People magazine about Foxx’s hospitalization.
“He’s OK, thank God,” the individual said.

The article was published Friday, and said the Oscar-winning actor and comedian’s medical emergency happened while he was in Georgia filming his upcoming Netflix movie Back in Action.
The outlet said the incident did not occur on the set of the film, which also stars Cameron Diaz and Glenn Close.
Nick Cannon, who is friends with Foxx, confirmed the actor continues to improve.
“I know he’s doing so much better because I’m actually about to do something special for him, and doing him a favor,” Cannon told Entertainment Tonight in an article published earlier today.
Cannon was promoting his new radio show, The Daily Cannon, while speaking with ET. He declined to say what the favor was he did for Foxx.
“I can’t really say what it is, but it’ll be out there soon,” Cannon said. “I was reluctant to go all the way there, and even talk about it, but he gave me the blessing, so it’s a beautiful thing. He’s awake. They say he’s alert, so, we love it.”
Production on Back in Action was briefly halted following Foxx’s hospitalization, as previously reported. Days later, filming resumed with a stand-in actor, according to published reports.
Foxx’s daughter Corinne posted a statement to Instagram on April 12, revealing the actor was being treated for an unknown illness.
“We wanted to share that my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday (April 11),” Corinne shared. “Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery. We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time.”
Well-wishes have poured in across social media from friends and fans since Foxx was hospitalized.
