The Horror of Dolores Roach will not be returning for a second season on Prime Video after it was canceled.
The series, starring Justina Machado (Queen of the South and One Day at a Time), follows the character Dolores as she navigates life after prison, only to find her old neighborhood transformed by gentrification while she was incarcerated.

Originally a one-woman play titled Empanada Loca by Aaron Mark, the comedy explores the desperate measures Dolores takes to maintain stability after reuniting with an old friend.
Luis (Alejandro Hernandez), a laid-back stoner, allows her to live and work as a masseuse in the basement beneath his empanada shop. But Dolores’ life takes unexpected turns as she faces extreme situations in her quest for survival.
The series premiered in July 2023.
Amazon also canceled the romantic comedy With Love, a series revolving around the Diaz siblings and their quest for love and purpose during the holiday season.
The show, which premiered in 2021 and ran for two seasons, featured a diverse cast, including Emeraude Toubia, Mark Indelicato, Isis King, Vincent Rodriguez III, and Andre Royo. Gloria Calderón Kellett, another veteran from One Day at a Time, served as the series creator and executive producer.
Additionally, Harlan Coben’s Shelter, a drama centered around a teenager named Mickey dealing with the aftermath of his father’s death and an unsolved disappearance, also got axed after one season.
These cancellations are the first for Prime Video since the conclusion of the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes.
All three canceled shows prominently featured people of color in lead roles.
