Eddie Murphy is set to receive a big honor next month at the Critics’ Choice Awards.
The Critics Choice Association announced Monday it will give Murphy a Lifetime Achievement honor at the 2020 Critics’ Choice Awards.
The award follows the actor and comedian’s acclaimed performance as Rudy Ray Moore in Netflix’s Dolemite Is My Name, a role that earned him Best Actor nominations at both the Critics Choice Awards and the Golden Globes.

Back in 2007, Murphy took home a Best Supporting Actor Critics’ Choice Award for his role in Dreamgirls.
The Critics Choice Association represents more than 400 television, radio and online critics in the U.S. and Canada. The group previously announced actress Kristen Bell will receive the fourth annual #SeeHer Award during the ceremony.
The 25th Annual Critics’ Choice Awards will air live on Sunday, Jan.12 at 7pm ET on The CW with host Taye Diggs.
