Diddy Squashes Jermaine Dupri ‘Verzuz’ Challenge: ‘You ‘Ain’t Got Enough Hits’

Diddy and Jermaine Dupri

Diddy shot down the possibility of taking on Jermaine Dupri in a Verzuz battle.

Dupri seemingly challenged the Bad Boy Records mogul on Twitter Tuesday night, writing: “Somebody let @Diddy know I’m @thegarden right now ! And he gon need some training for me.”

Dupri’s reference to “the Garden” came as Fat Joe and Ja Rule musically duked it out for 20 rounds of songs at Madison Square Garden on the latest Verzuz battle.

Shortly after the “Welcome to Atlanta” producer’s tweet, the “I’ll Be Missing You” artist responded by saying Dr. Dre would be a better match.

“Beloved, you my ni–a but your arms too short to box with God!!! You ain’t got enough hits. I’ll smash you with just Biggie n Mary. But I do have the utmost respect for you as a musical legend – Dre the only one who can get in the ring with me,” Diddy tweeted.

The Verzuz battles, created by Timbaland and Swizz Beatz, have been big hits with fans during the pandemic as they watch iconic artists go hit for hit.

Past battles have included Patti LaBelle vs. Gladys Knight, Brandy vs. Monica, and DMX vs Snoop Dogg, shortly before the “X Gon’ Give It To Ya”rapper passed away in April.

Some battles quickly racked up the views, with Brandy and Monica’s matchup reaching over 1.2 million viewers on Instagram live.

Battles get posted on the Verzuz Instagram account, which currently has over 6 million followers.
