Mary J. Blige has no plans to take part in a Verzuz battle, despite rumors saying otherwise.

Reports have been circulating on social media that Blige and Toni Braxton had agreed to battle each other, but the official Verzuz Twitter page said there’s no truth to the rumors.

“We love both ladies, but this is not a confirmed #VERZUZ event,” Verzuz said in a statement earlier this week. “Please stay tuned for upcoming announcements on our future shows.”

On Thursday during an appearance on “The Breakfast Club,” Blige was asked if she would ever take part in a Verzuz battle.

“I don’t know what a Verzuz would do for me,” the Queen of Hip-Hop Soul said before cracking up laughing.

The hosts reminded her “it’s not about you, it’s about us! It’s a celebration.” She wasn’t convinced and responded, “I’m not sure what a Verzuz could do for Mary J. Blige right now, but um, right now, it’s not something that’s on the top of my list.”

The Grammy-winning singer’s comments were met with mixed reactions from fans.

“Not Mary J. Blige talking like she too good for a Verzuz when we done had THE Patti Labelle & Anita Baker do it. Just say you don’t want to and go,” wrote Twitter user @KelaniRose_.

“I do want Mary to do a Verzuz. I know she feel she doesn’t have to but for the culture pleaseeeeee @maryjblige,” added @vivalajayxoxo.

“After further reviewing came to mentally wrenching conclusion: Nobody and I mean NOBODY can match with Mary J. Blige on Verzuz successfully,” wrote Twitter user @sonnymic.

Blige does have a lot of her plate. She stars on the Starz drama Power Book II: Ghost, which was renewed for a second season, two weeks after it premiered in September.

As previously reported, she also has a new Amazon documentary titled Mary J. Blige’s My Life that dropped today. The film explores what inspired her critically acclaimed 1994 album “My Life,” and the impact of making the record.

“’My Life’ is probably my darkest album at one of the darkest times I’ve had,” Blige said in the trailer for the documentary. “Most of the time, I was just depressed and didn’t want to live. I had it all inside and I was able to sing it and write it, and I didn’t know that so many people felt the same way.”
