After charging Sean “Diddy” Combs with three counts in a federal sex trafficking case, prosecutors accused the mogul of intimidating people in his orbit.

Combs, 54, made an appearance in a New York City courtroom on Tuesday, Sept. 17, where he pleaded “not guilty.”

During Tuesday’s hearing, Assistant U.S. attorney Emily Johnson argued against granting the mogul bail, and said some witnesses in the case “universally expressed fear” of the Bad Boy Records founder.

According to TMZ, Johnson also alleged Combs called his former artist Kalenna Harper “54 times” the day before she released a statement contradicting claims made by her Diddy-Dirty Money bandmate Dawn Richard in a civil lawsuit against Combs.

Richard filed the lawsuit on Sept. 10, alleging sexual battery, false imprisonment, and other crimes. Her complaint mentioned Harper 33 times as a witness to some of Diddy’s alleged depraved behavior.

On Sept. 13, Kalenna released a statement on her Instagram stories contradicting Dawn’s claims.

“While I fully respect Dawn’s right to recount her experiences, I want to emphasize that her account reflects her personal perspective and should not be interpreted as a universal truth applicable to everyone involved,” Kalenna said, adding, “incidents described in this suit are not representative of my experiences, and some do not align with my own truth.”

Dawn noted in her lawsuit that Kalenna is married to music producer Tony Vick, who is a “close” associate of Diddy.

Diddy was arrested at a New York City hotel on Monday, Sept. 16, and is being held without bail as he awaits trial on racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution charges.

The unsealed 14-page indictment outlines accusations against the mogul dating back to 2008.

“Combs relied on the employees, resources, and influence of the multi-faceted business empire that he led and controlled — creating a criminal enterprise whose members and associates engaged in, and attempted to engage in, among other crimes, sex trafficking, forced labor, kidnapping, arson, bribery, and obstruction of justice,” the indictment says.

Diddy’s attorney Marc Agnifilo said the case is unwarranted.

“We are disappointed with the decision to pursue what we believe is an unjust prosecution of Mr. Combs by the U.S. Attorney’s Office. Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is a music icon, self-made entrepreneur, loving family man, and proven philanthropist who has spent the last 30 years building an empire, adoring his children, and working to uplift the Black community,” Agnifilo said.
