It’s just a Tinder date. What could go wrong? Everything in the upcoming BET+ series Diarra From Detroit.

The streamer released the trailer for the dramatic comedy series this week on YouTube.

In the video, Diarra (played by Diarra Kilpatrick) goes on a date with a new suitor she met through the popular dating app. The two get intimate, which Diarra claims she “normally wouldn’t have done,” then the guy vanishes.

She refuses to believe she was rejected and turns to law enforcement to help her find answers.

“I did not get ghosted,” she insists. “I think he was taken.”

Her search for answers draws the divorcing school teacher into a mystery involving the Detroit underworld.

“As the case unfolds, her co-workers, friends, and lovers become unlikely allies as she falls down a dangerous rabbit hole,” BET+ said in a press release.

The cast includes Morris Chestnut, Phylicia Rashad, DomiNque Perry, Claudia Logan, Bryan Terrell Clark, Shannon Wallace, and Jon Chaffin.

David Zayas, Harry Lennix, Paul Ben-Victor, and Bechir Sylvain have recurring guest roles, along with Kash Doll, John Salley, Icewear Vezzo, and Julio Macias.

The series comes from BET Studios and Kenya Barris’ Khalabo Ink Society.

Executive producers include series star and creator Diarra Kilpatrick, alongside Kenya Barris and Miles Orion Feldsott. Erynn Sampson serves as a producer, overseeing the project for Khalabo Ink Society.

Kilpatrick is a Detroit native and previously worked as a writer on the TBS comedy series The Last O.G. She’s also had acting roles on The Last OG and HBO’s Perry Mason.

Her new venture, Diarra From Detroit premieres March 21 on BET+.
