Diarra From Detroit will return for a second season on BET+.
The streaming service made the announcement on Monday, saying it greenlit another season of the hit series from creator, executive producer, writer, and star Diarra Kilpatrick.
Bryan Terrell Clark, DomiNque Perry, and Jon Chaffin are all confirmed to return as series regulars alongside Kilpatrick.
The first season followed a divorcing schoolteacher (Kilpatrick) who refuses to believe she’s been ghosted by her rebound Tinder date. As she searches for answers, the case deepens and she enlists the help of her co-workers, friends, and past lovers — forming an unlikely crew navigating secrets and danger.

“We’re excited to be back and grateful for the opportunity to take viewers on another very wild, very Detroit adventure,” Kilpatrick said in a press release.
Kilpatrick is a Detroit native and previously worked as a writer on the TBS comedy series The Last O.G. She’s also had acting roles on The Last OG and HBO’s Perry Mason.
Her BET+ show ranked as the No. 1 new series on cable among Black viewers year-to-date and topped key demos including Black adults ages 18-49 and 25-54, according to BET.
Diarra From Detroit is produced by BET Studios and Kenya Barris’ Khalabo Ink Society. Barris serves as an executive producer on the show.
“It has been incredible watching fans and critics embrace this show in the way that they have and we’re so excited to be back for more,” said Barris. “Last season proved just how wildly talented Diarra Kilpatrick is and I, for one, can’t wait for everyone to see what her and the team have in store this time around.”
A premiere date for season 2 of the dramatic comedy series will be announced later.
