Rapper Desiigner was charged Monday with indecent exposure on an aircraft for allegedly masturbating on an international flight, authorities said.
The New York born performer, real name Sidney Royel Selby III, was hit with one misdemeanor count by the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Minnesota.
The incident happened on a Delta Airlines flight from Tokyo to Minneapolis on April 17, federal prosecutors said in a news release.
The 25-year-old rapper was seated in the first class cabin and allegedly “exposed his genitals multiple times,” the release said. “During one of the exposures, he masturbated.”

A flight attendant handed him an FAA violation card, letting him know he “appears to be in violation of federal law.”
The flight crew then asked him to move to the rear of the plane, so he could sit near two travel companions who agreed to monitor him.
According to the criminal complaint obtained by the New York Post, “a jar of Vaseline dropped in the aisle” when the rapper stood up to change seats.
The criminal complaint said he apologized to the flight crew when the plane landed at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport.
The rapper was then detained by an FBI agent. According to the complaint, Desiigner told the investigating agent he “didn’t get much” in Japan and showed his “magic stick” to a flight attendant he found attractive.
The rapper, who is best known for his hit single “Panda,” faces up to 90 days in jail and a $500 fine.
On April 20, Desiigner hinted that there was turbulence ahead in a tweet saying he was “ashamed” of his actions on a plane.
“For the past few months I have not been ok, and I have been struggling to come to terms with what is going on,” his tweet began. “While overseas for a concert I performed at, I had to be admitted in to a hospital. I was not thinking clearly. They gave me meds, and I had to hop on a plane home. I am ashamed of my actions that happened on that plane. I landed back to the states, and am admitting myself in a facility to help me.”
He added that he is canceling all of his shows until further notice and asked his followers to pray for him.
