Dawn Robinson had a successful career as a founding member of R&B supergroups En Vogue and Lucy Pearl, selling millions of records.
But in a video posted to her YouTube channel on Tuesday, March 11, Robinson revealed she’s homeless.
“You guys, for the past three years, almost three years, I have been living in my car,” she shared, adding: “I said it, it’s out!”

Robinson, 58, said she moved in with her parents in Las Vegas back in 2020, but she eventually left because of tension with her mother.
The Grammy-nominated singer shared that her manager at the time invited her to Los Angeles and put her up in a hotel room for several months. But as the bills piled up, she began looking for an apartment.
According to Dawn, her manager promised to help her secure an apartment, but he never followed through.
As she became frustrated, the singer started doing research and drove to Malibu to live in her car. “I felt free,” she said about calling her car home, although she admitted it hasn’t been easy, especially when it rains and water leaks into her car.
“This is not something that I would have chosen, but I’m glad that I put myself out here… I have no shame,” she said.
Robinson added that there’s a documentary in the works about her experiences living on the streets.
Despite facing challenges, she said she remains hopeful and wants to release new music.
