Chris Rock says he’s recovered and feels like he’s “back from the dead” after contracting a breakthrough case of COVID-19.
The Spiral: From The Book Of Saw star and fellow comedian Dave Chappelle surprised fans and musician Robert Glasper at the Blue Note Jazz Club in Manhattan on Sunday. Both comedians introduced Glasper on stage and took the time to crack a few jokes for his audience.
“I’m back from the dead! I had COVID. I had motherf–king COVID. Goddamnit,” Rock said onstage, according to Page Six.
“It wasn’t quite as hard as being Black, but it was close. That’s why everyone’s trying to avoid it man,” the Saturday Night Live alum joked.

“I think I got it on this Civil Rights movie,” Rock continued. “That’s a noble way to get COVID,” Chappelle responded.
Rock contracted COVID in mid-September and urged his Twitter followers to get vaccinated. “Hey guys I just found out I have COVID, trust me you don’t want this. Get vaccinated,” he tweeted.
Back in May, the actor and comedian said on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon he had received the Johnson & Johnson shot.
