Charlamagne Tha God has some thoughts on which songs Kendrick Lamar should perform in tonight’s Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show — and “Not Like Us” is not one of them.

Last weekend the Compton rapper took home five Grammy Awards for his chart-topping Drake diss track.

But on the Feb. 8 episode of his “Brilliant Idiots” podcast with comedian Andrew Schulz, Charlamagne said the Super Bowl is no place for a diss track.

“I just don’t think he should do a diss record on a big stage like that,” Charlamagne said in a clip shared by The Shade Room. “Kendrick, you don’t gotta do it. I wouldn’t do it.”

The radio personality mentioned Drake’s legal filing over the song claiming defamation, as a major reason to skip it or at least alter it.

Charlamagne said one thing Kendrick could do is a “remix” featuring “horns and the hook,” but not the lyrics — especially the “A minor” verse. (If you don’t know what he’s referring to, the lyrics are here.)

Social media users filled The Shade Room‘s post with comments, essentially telling Charlamagne to shut up.

“Good thing we didn’t ask you to think,” one person wrote.

“Silly take…why wouldn’t he perform the biggest record of the year on the biggest stage?” another person added.

“Well you not like us Charlamagne,” someone else chimed in.

“This ain’t just any regular Diss Record. . . . IT WAS THE NUMBER 1 SONG IN THE COUNTRY. HE HAS TO DO IT. . .” another person added.

“I hope he only does that song on repeat for 13 minutes,” someone else shared.

Kendrick Lamar fans will have to wait until this evening to find out which songs he includes, or if he performs “Not Like Us” back-to-back like he did at a 2024 Juneteenth concert in Los Angeles.

Super Bowl LIX kicks off at 3:30 p.m. PT/6:30 p.m. ET on Fox. The game streams on DirecTV, Fubo, Hulu + Live TV, NFL+, and Sling.
