The Voice is changing up its coaching panel, with Chance the Rapper and pop star Niall Horan joining the series for season 23.

“I’m thrilled to join The Voice as a coach for the next season,” Chance the Rapper said in a statement Tuesday. “I’m excited to help other artists get to the next level and make the most of this life-changing experience. Get ready for #teamchance.”

This marks the Grammy-winning rapper, singer-songwriter, producer and activist’s first turn on the NBC competition show’s coaching panel.

Not signed to a major label, the hip-hop star releases his music via streaming services. The Chicago native’s third mixtape, “Coloring Book,” was streamed over 57 million times and debuted at #8 on the Billboard 200. It became the first streaming-only album to win a Grammy Award.

Joining Chance as a new member of The Voice is singer, songwriter and musician Niall Horan.

Horan is a former member of the band One Direction, formed on British reality show The X Factor in 2010. His solo album “Flicker” debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in the U.S. and produced the hit singles “This Town” and “Slow Hands.”

“I’m excited to be joining this season of The Voice as a coach,” Horan said. “I’m looking forward to meeting and mentoring the new crop of talent while we battle it out with the other teams!”

The two will take seats alongside returning coaches Kelly Clarkson and Blake Shelton. Carson Daly is back as host.

After season 23, Shelton will say goodbye to his red chair. The country music superstar is the only coach who’s been with the series since it launched. Over the years, he’s secured eight wins.

Season 22 of The Voice premiered Sept. 19, 2022 on NBC. The Blind Auditions wrapped up on Monday, Oct. 10, with current coaches Camila Cabello, John Legend, Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton. The Battles kicked off on Tuesday, Oct.11.

The Voice comes from MGM Television and Warner Bros. Unscripted Television in association with Warner Horizon, and ITV Studios The Voice USA, Inc. The series was created by John de Mol, who serves as an executive producer along with Mark Burnett, Audrey Morrissey, Amanda Zucker, Kyra Thompson and Adam H. Sher.

Season 23 of The Voice premieres this spring.
