Oprah is partnering with New York Times journalist Nikole Hannah-Jones, who created the project.
The casting follows the departure of series star Ruby Rose after one season.
The virtual series returns on July 11 with new episodes.
The show will focus on “the issues that are going on in the world.”
The agreement includes content exploring race, social injustice and equality issues.
