TV One’s Unsung and Uncensored return tonight with behind-the-scenes stories from R&B singer Bobby V and WNBA legend Lisa Leslie.

First up is Unsung on Bobby V, formally known as Bobby Valentino. In a preview clip, Bobby V reveals he changed his name after being slapped with a copyright lawsuit by a British violinist.

“We did a contract where we could co-exist with the name, everywhere except for the U.K. and Ireland. Def Jam went against the contract and printed the album as Bobby Valentino, so from there on, all hell broke loose,” Bobby V explains in the video. “I had to pay this guy a lot of money. The label had to pay him a lot of money.”

Bobby V, born Bobby Marcel Wilson, says the lawsuits continued even after he settled with British performer Bobby Valentino. “I lost, kind of my identity,” the chart-topping “Slow Down” singer says.

Unsung is narrated by actor Gary Anthony Williams and is Executive Produced by Arthur Smith and Frank Sinton of A. Smith & Co. Productions. Mark Rowland also serves as Executive Producer. For TV One, Jason Ryan is Executive in Charge of Production; Donyell Kennedy-McCullough is Senior Director of Talent & Casting; and Robyn Arrington Greene is Head of Original Programming and Production.

Immediately following Unsung, Uncensored sits down for a candid interview with Lisa Leslie. The sports icon discusses her friendship with the late Kobe Bryant; sexuality in the WNBA; and meeting her estranged father for the first time at age 12.

“Really, he was just a man,” she says in a preview clip about her absentee dad, “because I didn’t know him. Clearly, he didn’t know me. Looking at him, it was just a moment in time … I didn’t ask him, ‘where have you been,’ or ‘why are you not taking care of your children?’ I didn’t ask him any of those things.”

Born and raised in Compton, Leslie saw basketball as her ticket to a better life. She eventually became a four time Olympian and three time WNBA league MVP, securing her legacy as one of the best players in the world.

Uncensored is produced for TV One by executive producers Eric Tomosunas, Keith Neal, James Seppelfrick and Paul Hall; co-executive producer Jay Allen, and producer Nikki Byles of Swirl Films.

Unsung airs Sunday at 9 p.m. ET/8C on TV One, followed by Uncensored at 10 p.m.
