Star Wars actor and longtime sex symbol Billy Dee Williams has come out as gender fluid.

The 82-year-old screen legend made the revelation in a recent interview with Esquire.

“I never tried to be anything except myself. I think of myself as a relatively colorful character who doesn’t take himself or herself too seriously,” Williams told the publication.

He added later in the interview, “I say ‘himself’ and ‘herself,’ because I also see myself as feminine as well as masculine. I’m a very soft person. I’m not afraid to show that side of myself.”

The New York native, who started acting in the 1950s, will reprise his role as Lando Calrissian in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, which will be released later this month.

During the Esquire interview, the reporter mentioned Donald Glover — who played Lando in the 2018 film Solo: A Star Wars Story. Glover described Lando as pansexual while speaking with SiriusXM.

Glover said, “How can you not be pansexual in space?”

Pansexual means being attracted to all gender identities or attracted to people regardless of gender, according to GLAAD.

After being told about Glover’s comments, Williams responded: “Really? That kid is brilliant.”

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker arrives in theaters on December 20, 2019.
