BET’s ‘Twenties’ Gets Season 2 Premiere Date and After-Show Hosted by B. Scott

Lena Waithe’s Twenties is set to return for a second season in October on BET and BET HER, along with an after-show hosted and executive produced by celebrity blogger B. Scott.

The comedy is created, written and executive produced by Waithe and Hillman Grad Productions. The series stars Jojo T. Gibbs as “Hattie,” a queer Black girl chasing her dreams of becoming a screenwriter in Los Angeles alongside her two best friends, Marie and Nia, played by Christine Elmore and Gabrielle Graham respectively.

In the season opener, Hattie juggles working on her script, settling into a new place, and trying to make it work with Ida B. played by Sophina Brown, BET said in a recent press release. Meanwhile, “Nia” starts her first day on Cocoa’s Butter, and Marie questions her relationship with Chuck, played by Jevon McFerrin.

Along with the ensemble cast, the breakout hit features a guest cast that includes Alex Akpobome, Louie Anderson, Madeline Byrne, Rick Fox, Ashli Haynes, Kiki Haynes, Donell Rawlings, Nia Jervier, Bernard David Jones, Lea Robinson, Big Sean, Shylo Shaner, Iman Shumpert, Marsha Thomason, Kym E. Whitley, Vanessa L. Williams, and Parker Young.

At the end of each episode, there will be an after-show hosted and produced by B. Scott, who will be joined by cast members for commentary and insights into the characters’ successes and failures. Special guests from the Black LGBTQ+ community will come on the show and be given a platform to talk about their personal experiences.

Twenties After-Show With B. Scott is executive produced by Lena Waithe and Rishi Rajani, under their Hillman Grad Productions banner; B. Scott under their Ahoskie Productions banner; Sergio Alfaro, Michael Weinberg, Fernita Wynn, Ray Giuliani for Invent TV.

Season 2 of Twenties premieres on Wednesday, Oct. 13, at 10 PM ET/PT ON BET and BET HER. It will be followed by the after-show.
