Broadcast and cable networks are offering a special lineup of programming in celebration of Juneteenth, a holiday marking the liberation of slaves in the United States.
Both BET and OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network are among the channels airing original programming, short-form content, and inspirational films as part of the day-long June 19 celebration.
The ViacomCBS-owned BET kicked off its “Juneteenth Freedom Day Marathon” as part of its Content For Change initiative beginning at 7 a.m. ET/PT.
BET’s programming lineup features the hit sitcoms The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Martin, and The Parkers, as well as the films Selma, Marshall and Do The Right Thing.
The BET schedule is as follows:
7 a.m.-noon – The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Martin, The Parkers
Noon – Marshall
3 p.m. Race
6 p.m. Do The Right Thing
9 p.m. Selma

OWN will also offer a lineup of programming and has announced that it will be airing documentaries and interviews, including Dark Girls, Light Girls, Oprah & Lupita Nyong’o on Colorism, and Oprah Winfrey Presents: The Legends Who Paved the Way.
