Kid ’N Play and 112 Set to Perform at 2022 Black Music Honors

The 2022 Black Music Honors performers have been announced.

Hip-Hop Duo Kid N’ Play will turn up the heat, along with Grammy-award winning R&B group 112. Also taking the stage are Carl Thomas, Raheem DeVaughn and Amber Riley, singer and songwriter Eric Bellinger, Avery Wilson, PJ Morton, Jade Novah, Keedron Bryant, Ajah and Rhea Walls from The Walls Group, Tasha Page-Lockhart, Crystal Aikin, Sheléa, Kevin Ross and Eric Roberston.

Black Music Honors is an annual event that recognizes African American artists who’ve influenced and made significant contributions to Black music and culture.

Hosted by singer and actress LeToya Luckett alongside actor-comedian DeRay Davis, this year’s show will commemorate Juneteenth and Black Music Month.

The 2022 Honorees are R&B group Dru Hill, Tevin Campbell, Karyn White, The Whispers, Keri Hilson and sister duo Mary Mary who will receive the Gospel Icon Award. There will also be a special Juneteenth highlight recognizing the national federal holiday.

The show is produced by Chicago-based production company Central City Productions and executive produced by Don Jackson with Jennifer J. Jackson serving as producer and Michael A. Johnson as producer and director.

The 7th Annual Black Music Honors will tape live at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre in Atlanta on Thursday, May 19.

The show will air in national syndication from June 4 to July 3 in honor of Juneteenth. You can also watch it on Bounce TV on Saturday, June 25. More details can be found here.
