Tyrese has turned to his fans for prayers and support.
The actor and singer took to Instagram this week to say he continues to struggle following the February death of his mother Priscilla Murray Gibson, as well as the losses in recent years of director John Singleton, his Fast & Furious co-star Paul Walker, and songwriter LaShawn Daniels.
Tyrese said he is also struggling to cope with the split from his wife, Samantha Lee Gibson.
The post included a picture actor with Walker, who died in 2013 after a single-vehicle crash.
“Paul I promise you I got you bro. #FASTX I think I need more therapy I’m still not over losing my mom, Paul, John Singleton, and Lashawn Daniels. When people pass on? They just leave us all here to deal with it. That’s really painful stuff pray for me y’all,” Tyrese began the post, which he described as a “cry for help.”

He continued, “Lately I’ve been unraveling, painfully processing this all… This divorce has to end she has dragged this all out for a year and 8 months. I just want peace and to be left alone. Coming up on 3 weeks since I’ve been able to record my new #BeautifulPain album I have felt PAUSED…. God is trying to tell me something so I’ve decided to pause and receive whatever he’s trying to tell me.”
He actor also called on his “hero” Denzel Washington for help.
“At times I wish the likes of my hero Denzel Washington would call me and say come camp out and stay in my guest house for 4 months let’s just talk every day and pray and watch me FLY!!!!” he wrote.
The “Sweet Lady” singer added, “Pray for me guys. I just wanna be great Oh damn I’m sure my phone is about to ring, sorry not taking calls just pray for me.”
