The upcoming “Legends of Gospel: Vegas Residency” is expanding before it even begins.
Organizers announced Monday that a third performance has been added “due to popular demand.” The new show is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 11, at The Theater at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas.
The residency will bring together The Clark Sisters, Fred Hammond and Deitrick Haddon for three nights of gospel music on Oct. 8, 9 and 11.
As Urban Hollywood 411 previously reported, the concert series is being billed as the first gospel residency on the Las Vegas Strip in modern history.
The Clark Sisters are one of the best-selling female gospel groups of all time. Hammond is a Grammy Award-winning singer, songwriter and producer, while Haddon has earned multiple Stellar Awards and Grammy nominations for his contemporary blend of gospel, R&B, hip-hop and soul.
The opening shows will mark the first chapter of an ongoing concert series, and more dates and performers are expected to be announced in the coming months.
The residency was created through a partnership between IKON Presents and Dr. Holly Carter, president and CEO of Relévé Entertainment.
“For years, I have envisioned bringing Gospel to Las Vegas on this scale,” Carter said in a statement. “To now unite legendary artists in a groundbreaking residency is more than a milestone, it’s a moment. And I thank God for it.”
Show producer Keesha Brickhouse described the residency as a major step forward for the genre.
“Producing the first Gospel residency in more than 60 years is an incredible honor,” Brickhouse said. “It’s redefining what’s possible for Gospel music, and I’m excited to be a part of this historic moment.”
Tickets for all three performances are on sale now at GospelVegas.com.
