When The Voice returns this fall for season 30, the NBC music competition will welcome a new coach to the spinning red chairs.
Queen Latifah is the newest coach to join the series, NBC announced Tuesday.
The actress, rapper and singer “brings her deep industry experience and unique approach as an entertainer to the dynamic coaching lineup,” the network said in a press release on May 12.
Latifah released her debut album All Hail the Queen in 1989. She scored a string of hit singles over the years, including
“Ladies First,” “Just Another Day,” and “U.N.I.T.Y.”
The New Jersey native is a Grammy, Emmy, and Golden Globe winner. She received an Oscar nomination for her role as “Matron Mama Morton” in the movie-musical, Chicago (2002).
Adding to her list of honors, it was announced last month that she will be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame later this year as part of the early influence category.
Queen Latifah joins fellow new coach Riley Green on the upcoming season of The Voice. A country music star, Green previously performed on the show in seasons 26 and 28, per NBC.
Hitmakers Kelly Clarkson and Adam Levine are returning as coaches for season 30. In a nod to the show’s landmark season, there will be special appearances by former coaches and mentors.
Alexia Jayy is the show’s most recent champion after being crowned season 29 winner last month. A member of Team Adam, the R&B singer from Alabama became the first Black woman to win the competition.
The Voice was created by John de Mol, who serves as an executive producer along with Mark Burnett, Audrey Morrissey, Amanda Zucker, Kyra Thompson, Adam H. Sher, and Barry Poznick.
The series is produced by MGM Television, Warner Bros. Unscripted Television in association with Warner Horizon, and ITV Studios’ The Voice USA, Inc.
This week NBC released its 2026-2027 fall schedule, and said The Voice will air Mondays from 8 p.m.-10 p.m.
