The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame has unveiled the names of its 2026 inductees.
The eight honorees in the performer category are Luther Vandross, Wu-Tang Clan, Phil Collins, Billy Idol, Iron Maiden, Joy Division/New Order, Oasis, and Sade (the band).
Additional inductees include Celia Cruz, Fela Kuti, Queen Latifah, MC Lyte, and Gram Parsons, who will receive the early influence award.
The Hall of Fame’s musical excellence award will go to Linda Creed, Arif Mardin, Jimmy Miller, and Rick Rubin.
The Ahmet Ertegun Award goes to Ed Sullivan for having a major influence on creative development and the growth of music.
“Induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame is music’s highest honor. We look forward to celebrating these remarkable artists at this year’s ceremony – it’s going to be an unforgettable night,” John Sykes, chairman of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, said in a statement.
To be eligible, each artist or band must have released their first commercial recording at least 25 years before the year they are nominated.
Collins was previously inducted as a member of Genesis, but this year he was a first time solo nominee. The other first timers were Luther Vandross and Wu-Tang Clan. Billy Idol, Iron Maiden, Joy Division/New Order, Oasis, and Sade were all previously nominated.
The inductees were announced Monday, April 13, live on ABC and Disney+ by Ryan Seacrest and previous inductee Lionel Richie during the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame-themed episode of American Idol. The Hall of Fame also announced the inductees on YouTube.
The induction ceremony will take place on Saturday, Nov. 14, at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, and will air on ABC and Disney+ in December, with the date to be announced later. In 2027, the induction ceremony will return to Cleveland, Ohio where the Hall of Fame is located.
