Netflix is introducing the comedians who will appear on Funny AF With Kevin Hart.
The production team held showcases in New York, Chicago and Los Angeles, and 43 competitors were selected to join the eight-episode series.
The up-and-coming comics come from Brooklyn, New York; Hackensack, New Jersey; Denver, Colorado; Austin, Texas; Matteson, Illinois; Los Angeles and other cities.
According to Netflix, the competitors will face “rigorous tests that mirror the real-life journey of a comedian — from brutal open mics to bombed sets, rewrites and the pressure of big-stage performances.”

Keegan-Michael Key, Tom Segura, Kumail Nanjiani, Chelsea Handler, and Nikki Glaser join Kevin Hart as judges on the pre-recorded episodes.
The winner will be chosen by viewers during a live finale and announced at the end of episode 8. The grand prize is a contract for a Netflix comedy special.
The series begins streaming Monday, April 20, with four pre-recorded episodes. Two more recorded episodes air on Monday, April 27.
The final two episodes stream live from Los Angeles on Monday and Tuesday, May 4 and May 5 at 6PM PT/9 PM ET during the Netflix Is a Joke Festival.
